Henderson Brothers, Inc. has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2020 honor by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This is the fifth time that Henderson Brothers was honored with this award. Henderson Brothers also received a 2020 special award for operating by strong values.
With the challenges of remote working and redefining how to serve clients as our top priority, Henderson Brothers’ leadership pivoted quickly to provide additional technology, resources, and support for our staff in order to continue business as usual from their home offices. Senior Management maintained touch-base meetings via Zoom with all employees regarding business status, relevant updates, and plans moving forward. Employees received monthly gift baskets filled with food and snacks, as well as gift cards for families to grab a meal for takeout at a local restaurant. Furthermore, work hours became more flexible, especially considering childcare, and periodic early “log-off” dates were given to support work/life balance.
The result? In addition to continued positive employee feedback, our operations have remained strong and we are hiring.
William Beale, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, described Henderson Brothers’ workforce dynamics in 2020 by saying, “We are grateful for this award, but we are also acutely aware it didn’t happen by accident. Our employees anticipated some of the challenges 2020 eventually brought, and they really stepped up to serve their colleagues and clients. I am very proud of them.”
