Passed by proclamation by the Pittsburgh City Council on Tuesday, April 24, 2018; it reads as follows:
“WHEREAS, Henderson Brothers, Inc. is a Pittsburgh – based, locally owned insurance and business consulting firm. They are insurance experts who design and manage programs for thousands of individuals as well as leading corporations, small businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout the region and beyond; and,
WHEREAS, Henderson Brothers, Inc. originated in 1893 as the Pittsburgh and Cincinnati Packet Line to transport passengers and cargo on inland waterways, primarily the Ohio River, and thereafter to offer maritime and other insurance coverage as Henderson Brothers, Inc. ;and,
WHEREAS, driven by solid values and deep industry knowledge, Henderson Brothers delivers an unparalleled expertise to the management of risk in times of uncertainty. They design and manage comprehensive solutions for personal insurance, commercial insurance, employee benefits programs and retirement planning while never losing that personal touch; and,
WHEREAS, Henderson Brothers, Inc. remains a family- owned, fiercely independent, Pittsburgh based organization focused on the customer’s needs and their peace of mind. Additionally, as a multigenerational business, they recognize the value of a strong community and are involved and committed to volunteer service with a variety of charitable organizations.
This year, Henderson Brothers is celebrating 125 years in business at their Annual Meeting/ Employee Celebration at the Hotel Monaco on May 9, 2018.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend the Henderson Brothers, Inc. for their commitment to customers’ needs and congratulates Henderson Brothers for remaining Pittsburgh-based and family owned for 125 successful years; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Wednesday, May 9, 2018, to be “ HENDERSON BROTHERS DAY ” in the City of Pittsburgh.”
